Analogia legum, or, A view of the institutes of the laws of England and Scotland, set one against the other: to shew wherein those two laws agree and differ: designed for the ease and better accommodation of the subjects of both parts of the United Kingdom of Great Britain, in their mutual dealings and concerns with one another: where, for the satisfaction of the curious, and to give light in new and difficult cases, by leading to the fountains, is likewise shewn: wherein our British laws agree and differ from the ancient and venerable laws of the Jews or the divine law, the laws of the Romans, or civil law, the law Christian, or canon law, the feudal law, or the origin of tenures, and sometimes wherein we agree and differ from the modern usages of other polite states
